Florida is a national leader in wooing wealthy millennials. ๐ฐ A new study shows Florida is a national leader in attracting wealthy millennials to relocate to state. That influx, according to the report from travel content provider Upgraded Points, has led Florida to gain nearly $7 billion in its tax base, among other highlights. (BO)
Artist Amy Moglia Heuerman opens art gallery in Naples Design District. ๐จ Heuerman said she outgrew her original space at 10th Street South and closed it in May after four years. The location underwent a six-month floor-to-ceiling renovation of the 1,500 square-foot space to repair hurricane damage and create an environment for Heuermanโs diverse paintings, including abstracts, coastals, abstract florals and her Girls series. When will this haze over SWFL end? ๐ฅ Smoke from a Canadian wildfire is blasting south along the East Coast and across Florida, causing hazy conditions in fog-like conditions. How is that possible? A high pressure ridge sitting over Tennessee is forcing air from Canada to reach south all the way to the Sunshine State, and it's expected to linger until Thursday. (NDN)
Pending sale of Chicoโs FAS caps turnaround of womenโs clothing company. ๐ Five years and three CEOs later, the clothing store with about 1,500 employees and three brands based in Lee County announced its sale. A $1 billion deal with New York-based private equity firm Sycamore Partners will convert Chicoโs FAS from a public to private company by the end of this year, according to statements from both parties. Despite difficulties, construction is booming in Southwest Florida. ๐ฆบ The trend of new construction in the region, despite its difficulties, will only intensify as newcomers continue flocking to the area, and investors continue securing properties to rebuild along the coastal areas that were devastated by Hurricane Ian on Sept. 28, 2022.
