Collier County to host 4th of July fireworks. 🎆 After the city decided to go dark this year for Fourth of July fireworks at the Naples Pier, Collier County officials stepped in to light up the Fourth with a pyrotechnics show planned at Paradise Coast Sports Complex. (GB)

Residents oppose new cell towers due to possible health risks. 📳 Verizon has taken steps to address connectivity issues in the City of Naples, with a plan that requires a system of cell towers installed throughout Naples. Verizon claims the multiple 5G towers will ultimately improve their customer’s phone and data performance. From a community perspective, however, the plan poses two major challenges: the risk to aesthetics of the town, people’s yards and businesses, and concerns about the increased level of RF radiation and its potential health risks for residents. South Seas Island Resort owner seeks to rebuild hotel with a third floor. 🏖️ Two months after Hurricane Ian, the federal government rewrote the coastal flood plain, which further has impaired the resort’s owners from rebuilding their 107-room hotel. (GB)

PizzaJones! to replace Industry BBQ 🍕 in Bayfront. Jones said his retail barbecue concept that grew from his Porker BBQ food truck just didn’t work in Naples even though he had a pitmaster creating authentic craft barbecue over a wood-burning pit. (GB)
